Northern League of Legends Championship: Carlstad Kings Qualified for Division 4.
We started the first one the qualifying round at 14.00 and the first three matches against VERAX ARCANA (SWE), VIKINGS ON SHROOMS (SWE), HERNING ESPORT (DK) resulted in victories. Today's fourth and final match against Denmark DIVINE PEGASUS GAMING (DK) ended, however, with a defeat.
We were not enough all the way for Division 3.
We needed at least six victories to qualify for Division 3, and we only had three games left. In other words, a full pot was required for the second day of the evening. We lost the opening match against ROAR NORTHERN LIONS (DE). We then regrouped and won the second match against NTNUI E-SPORT (NO). Unfortunately, this day also ended with a loss, against another Swedish team, STAFFANGYMNASIET (SWE).
We finished the calibration with only four victories which means that we will compete in division 4, therefore changes will be made in the lineup, including players from the reserve side who will have an opportunity to show their value.
We formed our League of Legends team at the end of 2021 and placed us in first place in our group in division 5 during the winter season 2021/2022. As there were several problems within the squad, it was difficult to find a long-term line-up until the summer calibration was complete.
With this in mind, we take a step back and concentrate on stabilizing the squad and having a successful season in Division 4.
Simon Källström tells about how he and the team prepared for the calibration, their thoughts on the results and their expectations before the start of the season.
The preparations were made by assembling a competitive squad for the calibration, which resulted in a major change in the existing squad. We also entered into a partnership with an experienced head coach and an assistant coach to prepare the team for the calibration and the upcoming season.
Our goal was to end up in division 3, but we did not succeed this time. However, I am still happy with the team's performance and the game we were able to complete. I have high expectations for Division 4 and beyond, and I think more people will discover that Carlstad Kings is a club that intends to stay in the NLC.
- Simon Källström, Manager
On June 6, the groups and matches will be determined and the season begins on June 13. The transition period expires on 10 July. On August 8, the group game ends with round competitions between the first and seventh of August. On August 13, in division 5 - 3 playoffs, we definitely have the goal to participate.
The season is expected to be over on August 15th.
Pontus Rydström enters as an organizational resource.
Pontus has helped build our League of Legends squad from the ground up, and he will now turn his attention to becoming an organizational asset. He will support the team when needed, but he will not be visible in public.
